PATERSON — An officer in the Paterson police department was arrested Monday on charges that he allegedly exposed himself in front of a child in Bloomfield, according to multiple law enforcement sources.
The accused officer, Angel Acevedo, who is 31, has been suspended for 90 days without pay, sources said. Acevedo started working for the Paterson police department in July 2019, according to city payroll records.
The Paterson police department declined to comment on the charges against Acevedo.

Paterson Press asked the Essex County prosecutor’s office about the case. But officials there did not provide any information about Acevedo’s arrest.
The Bloomfield Police Department did not respond to a message left at its deputy chief’s office about the Acevedo case.
