Nov. 22—A Manchester man was arrested after he barricaded himself inside a house on River Road Friday morning and threatened to harm himself and others, police said.
Jamie Gerrard, 51, was charged with domestic violence-related criminal threatening and resisting arrest, according to a Friday news release.
The incident began around 9:30 a.m. when officers responded to 1507 River Road for a report of a man who was threatening harm, officials said. When they arrived, the man was alone inside the house but hung up the phone on police when they attempted to speak with him by phone.
Police then formed a perimeter around the house and blocked off nearby streets, according the the report. Negotiators were able to make contact with the man and convince him to come outside, and he was taken into custody.
