Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and two injured Tuesday evening in north Lubbock.
The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit was on scene overnight in the 700 block of Wabash Street following a shooting that was initially reported about 9:14 p.m., according to a statement from Lubbock police.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other people with serious injuries were take by EMS to University Medical Center.

Police by late Tuesday had not identified the victims or released additional details about what prompted the violence as the investigation is ongoing.
