ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities are investigating a threat that prompted a soft lockdown at Parkway South High School on Monday morning. Police have taken a former student accused of making the threat into custody.
A statement from the Parkway School District says, as school officials and law enforcement learned about the threat, students and staff remained inside the building.
The district adds that students were also kept indoors at nearby schools, including Southwest Middle, Wren Hollow, Hanna Woods and Sorrento Springs.

“We understand that any potential safety concern be unsettling,” the statement continued. “The safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority.”
The school district is working with local law enforcement to investigate the threat. No injuries were reported.
