Police: Man shot dead, another wounded in suburban WPB

WEST PALM BEACH — One man was shot dead and another injured late Friday in a suburban neighborhood west of the city, police said Sunday.

Palm Beach County sheriff’s officials said the shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Lake Terry Drive, which is north of Belvedere Road and west of Florida’s Turnpike in west-suburban West Palm Beach.

Deputies arriving on the scene found an adult male dead from gunshot wounds, and another adult male who had been injured by gunfire. The second man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting appears to have been targeted, deputies said, but no suspect has been identified. Officials did not release the names or any other identifying information about the victims.

The sheriff’s office is appealing to the public for any information related to this case. Anyone with information can remain anonymous and contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
