EAST LANSING — Police said they planned to seek criminal charges in connection with a fatal assault on a Fowlerville man last weekend in the downtown area.
Caleb Alan Shermoe, 20, was assaulted in the 300 block of East Grand River Avenue early Saturday morning and was taken to University of Michigan Health – Sparrow hospital, where he died, East Lansing police said Thursday in a news release.
It was unclear when Shermoe died or why police waited until Thursday afternoon to release information about the serious Jan. 18 incident.
