Previously convicted Pittsburgh felon sentenced to more than 11 years for drug, firearm violations

A Pittsburgh man was sentenced to more than a decade in prison earlier this week for violating federal narcotics and firearms laws.

Willie Blair Jr., 43, was sentenced to just over 11 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, on Tuesday, according to United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan.

Information presented to the court states that in October 2022, Blair possessed and intended to distribute more than a kilogram of a mixture and substance containing fentanyl and more than two kilograms of a mixture and substance containing cocaine. He also possessed a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon, which is against federal law.

The court was also told that authorities were led to Blair’s home through a suspicious package containing around two kilograms of cocaine addressed to the residence. A search warrant on Blair’s home and vehicle resulted in the discovery of 1,262.8 grams of fentanyl, drug trafficking tools, a pistol and ammunition.

Olshan says Blair admitted that the items found belonged to him, being a multi-kilogram distributor of fentanyl and heroin and attempting to possess with intent to distribute the cocaine seized from the package.

Blair has several prior felony convictions for controlled substances.
