A pub has been taped off by police in Bury. Officers have been in attendance at the Swan Hotel, on Tottington Road, throughout Sunday (November 17).
The pub’s entrance has been closed along with a section of the car park. Eyewitnesses reported seeing crime scene investigators at the scene earlier today.
Neighbours living close to the pub told the Manchester Evening News they heard ‘arguing’ late on Saturday night. Emergency services were reportedly in attendance in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Pub bosses issued a statement on Facebook confirming the pub was closed due to a ‘police incident’. A spokesperson for the Swan Hotel said: “Unfortunately due to a police incident the pub will remain closed until further notice.
“We’ve been advised we could open around 6pm but can’t guarantee.” Further details about the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed. Greater Manchester Police has been approached for a statement.
