Richard Madeley halts GMB live show to issue apology as he almost ‘breaks rules’

Good Morning Britain star Richard Madeley landed himself in hot water with producers once again after he was given a caution live on air.

The 68-year-old presenter was back on TV screens across the country with his co-star Charlotte Hawkins on Wednesday (July 24). During the programme, the hosts spoke to I’m A Celeb star and musician Myleene Klass about how children can open up to their parents more.

Myleene, who is also a mother of three and a young person’s mentor, gave her advice on young people’s mental health and how they can access resources on the Bupa website. But when Richard asked Myleene to elaborate and explain what was on the website exactly, he was quickly told to stop.

Richard said: “So once you go on to the website, what do you punch in, what are you looking for? Oh, I’m told I can’t ask that question, oh I’m so sorry!”

Fans were outraged by the ITV show

“We’ll break rules if we do that. So I’ll avoid that question!” Stepping in, Charlotte interjected: “I think people will have the information that they need, hopefully.”

Health insurance and healthcare company Bupa is offering expert mental health advice and guidance for parents and young people on their website. While on there, users can find videos of experts speaking on young people’s mental health.

Myleene’s video also features on the website where she gives an open and honest question and answer session. Some of the questions she’s asked were why she decided to become a young person’s mentor as well as her experience with mental health and motherhood.

Elsewhere on GMB, fans were left outraged after they continually showed a clip of Charlotte Dujardin who was accused of “whipping horse 24 times like circus elephant”. Since the footage emerged, the British equestrian and Olympian withdrew from the upcoming Paris games.

But viewers were left disgusted with the amount of times Good Morning Britain shared the shocking video to viewers and begged them to stop. One fan wrote on X: “Please stop showing that awful animal cruelty video without warnings.”

While another penned: “I’ve been watching #GMB for around an hour. They have shown the video of the horse being whipped around 5 times. Is it really necessary @GMB.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
