Sabres Rejecting Trade Offers For 2 Big Players

The Buffalo Sabres are currently looking to add to their roster through the trade market. It is understandable, as their start to the season has been shaky, and they are aiming to break their 13-year playoff drought.

According to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, teams have expressed interest in Dylan Cozens and Bowen Byram, but Sabres general manager Kevyn Adams has made it abundantly clear that he is not open to parting ways with either player.

Here is what Friedman said on the matter:

“Kevyn Adams is out there saying, ‘I want to help my team,’ and people are saying, ‘Oh, you want to trade me Bowen Byram? I can help you.’ (Adams) is like, ‘C’mon, I’m trying to make my team better.’ Another guy he got asked about was Dylan Cozens. I heard there were a few teams. But Adams is like, ‘We’re not interested in doing that. How does that make me better?'”

Byram, 23, was acquired by the Sabres this past season from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Casey Mittelstadt. Since then, Byram has become an important part of the Sabres’ defense, so it is not shocking in the slightest that Adams does not want to move him. Byram has three goals, nine points, and a plus-6 rating in 14 games this year.

Cozens, 23, has had a quiet start to the season, posting two goals, five points, and a minus-2 rating in 14 games. While his start to the season has been shaky, it is easy to see why Adams does not want to move him. The Sabres are looking to be competitive now, and Cozens is one of their top and most promising forwards.
