State police reported Friday evening that officers were responding to a fatal crash on the Sagamore Bridge, on Route 6 westbound, according to a Facebook post.
The crash was one of two fatal crashes Friday evening, the state police said. The second was on Route 24 north of Taunton.
The state Department of Transportation reported at around 8:30 p.m. that Route 6 eastbound was closed before the Sagamore Bridge due to a crash. Traffic was being diverted along Scenic Highway in Bourne. All lanes of the bridge were reported open by about 12 a.m. Saturday, the state agency said on X.
Plymouth and Brockton bus service reported at 12:09 a.m. Saturday that buses are proceeding back to Hyannis with passengers from Boston Logan International Airport. All remaining trips for the rest of the evening were cancelled. Service will resume the next morning as scheduled, the bus service said on X.
