A small plane landed on the highway on Monday afternoon in Agram Township.
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that at approximately 1:20 p.m. Monday, a plane went down on Highway 27 near the Eastern Morrison County Sportsman Club, approximately four miles west of Pierz in Agram Township, a release said.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Aaron Casper, of Eden Prairie, was the pilot of a small plane that was traveling from the Brainerd area to Eden Prairie, according to a release. Casper advised authorities that he lost engine power at 3,500 feet in the air. He then reported that he had to make an emergency landing on the highway. Once on the roadway, he drove the plane into the ditch to avoid traffic. Casper was not injured.
The FAA is still investigating. The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Pierz Police Department, Pierz Fire Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
