Feb. 23—PIERRE, S.D. — The South Dakota Lottery announced on Sunday that sales for “Lucky for Life” have been temporarily suspended statewide due to a system error. The issue caused some tickets to show an incorrect end date.
Tickets with pending draws are still valid.
Other South Dakota Lottery games, including scratch tickets, are not impacted by the error.
The Lottery is actively working with its systems vendor to resolve the issue. It is important to note that all existing “Lucky for Life” tickets with remaining draws are still valid.

The error specifically affected the display of end dates on some tickets, and players can only purchase up to nine advanced “Lucky for Life” draws at a time.
Further updates will be shared on the South Dakota Lottery website as they become available.
