Springlike warmth, dry conditions for the next six days

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Warmer days are welcome for the week ahead in The Wiregrass.

Our warming pattern comes as high pressure to our south pumps in a southwesterly flow from the Gulf of Mexico, driving in warmer air and higher temperatures. Further up in the atmosphere, the jet stream remains well to our north, allowing for warmer conditions to prevail.

Highs will top out in the upper 70s today and cool only to the low 50s tonight. Areas of patchy fog could develop overnight. A few showers are possible in the afternoon.

We’ll be slightly cooler Friday, before rebounding back to the 70s on Saturday. Another brief cooldown starts again Sunday before temperatures rebound Monday.

By Tuesday, highs will be back in the mid 70s.

Beyond Tuesday, we will be watching for increased rain chances across The Southeast and The Wiregrass.
