SS United States ocean liner leaves South Philadelphia port after 28 years

The retired ocean liner SS United States was towed out of a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania pier on Wednesday after 28 years. The historic ship, considered America’s last surviving ocean liner, will journey for over 2 weeks to Mobile, Alabama. Once there, the ship will be sunk, becoming an artificial reef.
