ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – The St. Louis County Police Department reports that they are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in the 9800 block of Green Valley Drive in north St. Louis County which left a man injured.
Police say they responded to a call for a ShotSpotter activation shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday night.
When officers got to the location, there was a man armed with a gun. He pointed the gun at the officer. The officer fired his service weapon and struck the suspect at least once. The suspect was then taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
A firearm was recovered on scene.
The St. Louis County police officer involved is 24-years-old and has about three years of law enforcement experience. He was not injured.
The investigation in ongoing.
