The three major indexes were on track to open in the red on Thursday after markets were closed for the Christmas holiday.
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped 149 points, or 0.3%, while S&P 500 futures fell 0.3%, and Nasdaq 100 futures lost 0.3%.
Despite the slight declines, markets continue to sport sizable gains this year, with the Dow up 15%, the S&P 26% higher, and the Nasdaq up 29%.
