The stock market ticked higher to begin its final trading day of 2024.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 145 points, or 0.3%. The S&P 500 was up 0.3%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.2%.
“While the tone is positive, barring a major rally, the S&P 500 will close out the month with a decline of over 1%,” wrote Bespoke Investment Group co-founder Paul Hickey.
