The actors walked the red carpet before presenting on stage during the awards show months after their USA Network series saw a viral resurgence thanks to Netflix.
Goddamn! The Mike Ross and Harvey Specter bromance is still going strong.
Suits alums Patrick J. Adams and Gabriel Macht reunited at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday when they walked the red carpet together before the awards show began (they’re also set to present on stage later in the night).
“It’s an amazing thing,” Macht said of the show’s new popularity. “We had some great success when the show was on… and then at a certain point, Netflix came in. It’s just gotten incredible eyes and we’re very grateful for it.”
And when asked about the new upcoming Suits series, Adams said, “It’s all in early stages.” He added that they both have “no idea” what it could be about. “It’s a show in the Suits universe, like a Suits LA,” he said. “If I got the phone call, I’m ready to suit up again.”
USA Network’s Suits starred Adams as con man-turned-lawyer Mike Ross, who became the young protégé to Macht’s legal shark Harvey Specter at a top NYC firm. The legal drama ran from 2011 to 2019 and also starred Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle (before she married Prince Harrry and became the Duchess of Sussex), Gina Torres, and Sarah Rafferty. The series recently enjoyed a viral resurgence in 2023 when the first eight seasons became available to stream on Netflix (the ninth and final season — as well as short-lived spinoff Pearson — is only available on Peacock), where it unexpectedly broke streaming records and topped Nielsen’s streaming charts for months on end.
As a result of the surprising Suits supremacy, EW confirmed in October that original series creator Aaron Korsh began developing another series set in the Suits universe with NBCUniversal. The new project is not labeled a reboot, spinoff, or prequel, and would feature an all-new cast. Though it would not initially include characters from the original show, an eventual crossover could occur further down the line.
