Supporting Biden is a stab in America’s back. Beshear must speak up about the president.

Supporting Biden is a stab in America’s back. Beshear must speak up about the president.

Gov. Andy Beshear is among the ten politicians whom the venerable news magazine, The Economist, has suggested as “plausible alternatives” to President Joe Biden. Vice President Kamila Harris is among the other nine.

But the general problem with most Democratic leaders is their tunnel vision. They seem beholden to the deadly status-quo. Most of them are not questioning Biden’s candidacy. His senility has made him so stubborn that he cannot even see the writing on the wall, let alone read it.

Some of them, while saying, “we have his back,” are unknowingly stabbing America in the back. Contrarily, they should encourage Biden to get off America’s back. The decrepitude of Biden candidacy is a certain route to Trump 2.0 and a GOP-controlled Congress. If that materializes, it will be an open season on freedom and democracy.

Beshear should speak up about Biden

To his credit, Beshear did question the state of Biden’s health, like Nancy Pelosi did. And like, so far, five Democratic members of the House have done, publicly. Another four did it privately. Beshear should build on his stance, but soon. He should empathetically but firmly emphasize that the president is not fit for the job. Being the first governor to do so will add to his national profile. Even if someone else beats him to it, he would still receive attention.

Any Democratic leader with presidential ambitions will do themselves a great favor by speaking up about the dire straits in which Biden’s nonsensical behavior has placed the country. Time is running out. The sooner they do it, the better. I will be happy if any Democrat does it. But I will be happier, if the governor of my state does it.

Beshear for President? Andy Beshear’s inclusive approach would be a refreshing alternative for president

Whoever does it should keep a few points in their arsenal of arguments. I am stating them in a direct way, as I am just writing an article. But they can fine-tune them. Here are those points:

  • Let’s give Biden some credit: He still remembers there is no king in America. So he should stop acting as one. What business do his family members have in boarding the Marine One, landing in Camp David, enjoying its comforts, and wanting to keep the privileges for four more years, the country be dammed? They are not a king’s family.

  • Biden and his staff have been saying he is mentally fit. The lie held until the debate with Trump blew the cover.

  • Post-debate, Biden and his staff doubled down on lying. When, in the debate, Biden said, “we finally beat Medicare,” besides showing aloofness and incoherence at many other points, America and the world saw what they saw. But his cronies are blaming the media for it. That was a live event, not a news report. So how can one blame the media for Biden’s mental collapse?

  • Trump often refers to Biden as “sleepy Joe.”  One can imagine the political ads Trump’s campaign will generate with a clip of Biden saying he fell to sleep in the debate. Biden did say that in a post-debate rally.

  • Biden told Geroge Stephanopoulos in the July 5 interview that he encounters a cognitive test every day, so he will not take one to allay anxieties about his diminished faculties. He did not mention that he miserably failed the cognitive test that the debate gave him.

  • The interview did nothing to improve Biden’s image. He was as higgledy-piggledy as he was in the debate. We have now also learned his team has been giving potential interviewers questions to ask him. If he cannot handle journalists’ impromptu questions, will he ask Vladimir Putin and Iran’s ayatollahs for their playbooks in advance, if he were to negotiate with them?

  • Suddenly, Biden and his visionless Democratic sycophants are as big a threat to America’s democracy as are former president Donald Trump and his minions in the Republican Party. Trump thinks he owns America. Now, so does Biden. They both to want to gamble America’s wellbeing for the second term. It seems it’s all about them, not America. When Stephanopoulos raised a question on that, Biden flashed a sarcastic and self-conceited smile, as if asking who me, the savior? Patriots do not have a savior complex.

  • Biden said June 27 was just a bad day, and he had a cold and a jet-lag. How many bad days a week or month does he experience? If the luxuries of Air Force One could not somewhat cushion him from a jet lag that stayed for a week or so, he is clearly unwell. A cold does not encumber one’s cognitive abilities, unless it is Covid, which Bide said he did not have.

  • If it was just a bad night, the people would have realized it themselves. Biden and his cohort would not have had to lie profusely, to counter the fallout. Frankly, more than the debate debacle, it’s their post-debate behavior that leaves nothing to imagination.

Gerth: If Democrats move on from Biden after poor debate, Andy Beshear won’t be the guy

America is at a crossroads. I hope a Democratic leader will pull America from the edge of the abyss at which it finds itself, rescuing it from the idiocies of two old men. Andy, please try to be that rescuer. You are a great governor. Now America needs you.
