Teen killed, two others wounded, in bloody East Harlem knife fight

A 17-year-old boy was killed and two men were wounded when a knife fight erupted outside an East Harlem deli, police said Saturday.

Cops called to the corner of E. 108th St. and Second Ave. at 6:15 p.m. Friday found the teen, identified as Carlos Rivas, and two men, ages 22 and 62, suffering from multiple knife wounds.

Rivas had been repeatedly stabbed in the chest and stomach, cops said. EMS rushed him to Harlem Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved.

The 62-year-old man suffered a gash to his forehead, police said. The 22-year-old victim had been stabbed in the left arm. Both were taken to area hospitals, where they were expected to survive. It was not immediately clear if any of the victims worked at the corner deli.

Witnesses told police that the bloody fight erupted when a verbal argument between a group of young men turned physical. Cops did not disclose what the argument was about.

Rivas lived in the Melrose section of the Bronx, about three miles where he was killed, officials said.

No arrests have been made.

Rivas was the second teen to be murdered in the city Friday, cops said.

A half hour earlier in the Bronx, two teenage boys, ages 15 and 17, were shot during a gang-feuled attack on Macombs Road near Cromwell Ave. in Highbridge at about 5:45 p.m., police said.

At least four rounds were fired, a law enforcement source told the Daily News.

Medics rushed the 15-year-old to St. Barnabas Hospital with a wound to the left side of his chest. He died at the hospital a short time later. The murdered teen remained unidentified Saturday, police said.

The 17-year-old victim was shot in the stomach. He was also taken to St. Barnabas and is expected to survive, cops said.

No arrests have been made.
