“Make a wish, Kyle.”

(Kyle Gass, Tenacious D)

“Don’t miss Trump next time.”

The comment was made a day after former U.S. President Trump was shot in the ear during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, which the FBI is probing as an assassination attempt.

The American comedy-rock duo has since suspended the rest of its Australian tour, with Gass on Tuesday (July 16) apologizing on Instagram for his “severe lack of judgement” and said the comments were inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. Black said he was “blindsided” by the comments and that he would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form.

The date and location of the footage was verified by corroborating visuals of the event shot by different sources and original file metadata from the source.
