Winter Weather Advisories in Effect for Greater Boston Area
Snow blanketed parts of Massachusetts on Friday, December 20, with up to 5 inches of accumulation possible in some areas, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.Footage shared by the Holden Department of Public Works (DPW) shows a snowplow treating roads with salt.According to the DPW, approximately three-quarters of an inch of snow was on the ground as of 5:30 pm, with heavier snow moving through the area.A winter weather advisory would remain in effect for portions of eastern Massachusetts and northern Rhode Island until early Saturday morning, according to the NWS.“Slow down and use caution while traveling,” the weather service urged.
