The Dow Notches 2-Day Winning Streak as Dollar Drops Again

Stocks and bonds began the holiday-shortened week with solid gains on Monday, though the U.S. dollar continued to slide.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 312 points, or 0.8%. The S&P 500 was up 0.8%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.6%.

The major indexes rose for a second day in a row. All three haven’t strung together back-to-back gains since they rose on the three days that ended on March 25, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
