“Just had a small knee operation, and pleased to report that all went well. Ever grateful for the skill and kindness of our healthcare professionals – absolutely wonderful people. Thank you to all who looked after me today.”

The comments section was full of fans wishing Steve a speedy recovery, with people noting that it makes a change for him to be cared for, rather than him doing the repairing.

The Repair Shop recently returned for the second half of season 13 on BBC One and the iPlayer streaming service, and there’s plenty more to look forward to beyond further episodes.

A spin-off called The Repair Shop on the Road is in the works, which will see the team hit the road to mend people’s treasures.

There’s also the recent announcement of a new tour called Secrets from the Barn, which will give fans the chance to watch some previously unaired footage and see the experts in person.

The live dates will kick off in February, and travel everywhere from Newcastle to Birmingham, Glasgow to Edinburgh, Salford to Swansea, and more. The presenters will vary based on the date, and they won’t be confirmed until closer to the dates themselves.

The Repair Shop airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
