Thieves steal millions of dollars worth of baseball cards from Dallas card show

The Allen Police Department is investigating a multi-million dollar theft that took place at the Dallas Card Show on Sunday.

Originally reported by Sports Collectors Daily, the thieves stole $2 million worth of cards including six 1952 Mickey Mantle Topps cards, a Nolan Ryan card and two Leaf Jackie Robinson rookies among other stolen cards.

The cards were stolen from Legacy Cardz owner Ashish Jai who posted about the incident on X, formerly Twitter.

Jai showed a video of theft which he posted on X, showing two of his employees being distracted by men in hats while a third man grabs a case from underneath a table with the cards and walks away.

Jai also stated that after reviewing the footage he believes he was targeted.

“The man seen taking the case from under the table in the middle of the square of tables had been stacking chairs near the booth for over an hour, and we thought he worked there. These guys had been scoping us out all day after footage review, and even went [through] a process of changing clothes. It was predetermined, and targeted because they knew exactly what case to take., which contained a large portion of my inventory,” said Jai.

The Allen Police Department confirmed to WFAA that a report was filed and that the department was investigating.

Jai promised a $70,000 reward for information that leads to the cards’ return or the return of the cards themselves.
