There’s a new sheriff in town and he’s already driving his toy squad car like a Miami police officer.
Franco Llorens Bernal, 6, who is battling leukemia, has always dreamed of becoming a police officer and exploring Disney World. On Thursday, South Florida Make-A-Wish Foundation granted both his wishes during a surprise celebration.
The 6 year old cruised out of his home in Allapattah in his squad car shouting, “This is my dream!” in Spanish when he heard all the sirens and saw the officers cheering for him. Officers showered him with gifts and told him he was headed to Disney World next week.
Franco’s dad, Jorge Bernal, thanked everyone, especially South Florida Make-A-Wish for bringing happiness to their son.
Several members gathered to watch as Franco greeted officers.
“I loved to see him happy,” said his mom, Wendy Bernal about his reaction to his wish reveal. “We’ve had a lot of sadness and his happiness is my happiness.”
