HOPEWELL – While police continue to search for suspects in last month’s double murder at a house party on North Radford Drive, they have arrested two individuals who reportedly interfered with officers trying to work the crime scene.
Razzaq Fard Martin, 30, of Chesterfield County, and Ronnie Harold Monroe, 26, of Hopewell, have been charged with felony tampering with evidence. Monroe has been also charged with assault on a police officer, another felony.

Monroe is being held at Riverside Regional Jail in Prince George County pending arraignment. Custody information for Martin was not immediately available.
A statement from Hopewell Police said Martin was arrested July 30, nine days after the shooting deaths of Damonye Taylor, 23, of Hopewell, and Daquante Roney, 30, of Prince George County. The two men were killed in the early morning hours of July 21 when a scuffle erupted over a dice game.
Monroe was arrested Aug. 9.
“Both individuals interfered with an investigation by tampering with evidence and/or obstructing officers while they were attempting to render aid to the victims. Such actions are unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” the police statement read. “With the assistance of the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney, we are committed to prosecuting both cases to the fullest extent of the law.”

Our officers are dedicated to ensuring the safety and integrity of our investigations, and we will continue to uphold the law to maintain public trust and safety.”
Meanwhile, an investigation into the homicides is continuing. Approximately 200 people were at the house party, but police said no one has come forward to say what they might have seen.
