Two injured in Christmas Day shooting in Des Moines, police say

Des Moines police are investigating a shooting that left two injured on Christmas afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to the 2900 block of East 40th Court for a report of a shooting, police spokesperson Sgt. Paul Parizek said in a news release.

Two people were confirmed injured, the news release said. Police did not specify injuries.

Police have secured the scene and said there is no indication of ongoing danger in the neighborhood, the news release said.

Police did not say whether anyone was arrested for the shooting.
