Two men were killed and two others were injured early Sunday after a fight led to an exchange of gunfire outside of a club in the 5400 block of South Staples Street, Corpus Christi police said.
Police responded to the scene at 2:37 a.m. and found two deceased gunshot victims, a 20-year-old Hispanic man and a 20-year-old Black man, the Corpus Christi Police Department said in a news release.
Two other victims — a 26-year-old Hispanic man and a 31-year-old Hispanic man — went to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Robbery/homicide detectives arrived to investigate the incident and found that a fight between the men in the parking lot led to the shooting, the news release said.
Detectives do not believe this to be a random act of violence.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives encouraged people to contact them at 361-886-2840 if they were at the club during the shooting and have information or video to share.
