UK minister says 50,000 Ukrainian troops trained by British forces

The United Kingdom has so far trained around 50,000 soldiers from Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022.

UK Defence Minister John Healey told Parliament in London that Tuesday will mark a “bloody milestone” of 1,000 days since the start of the all.out attack.

In his remarks on Monday, Healey said he could confirm that 50,000 soldiers from Ukraine had now been trained by British forces.

The UK began “Operation Interflex,” which is also supported by other countries, in the summer of 2022. According to the British government, Ukrainian recruits with little or no military experience are being trained.

The programme is set to continue in the coming year.
