The United Nations has expressed shock after a man drove a car into a Christmas market in the central German city of Magdeburg on Friday.
“We are shocked by the news of the attack today in Magdeburg, Germany,” UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric said in a statement.
“We extend our condolences to the families of the victims as well as the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Germany. We wish those injured a swift recovery.”
At least two people were killed, including a small child, and 60 injured in the incident, authorities said.
