As another work week winds down, commuters might find traveling across the river a little easier next week.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation hopes to reopen Highway 41 between Shakopee and Chaska around Tuesday evening.
According to MnDOT’s Minnesota Road Traveler Information Web site (511mn.org), crews are conducting post-flood repairs. The road is “expected to reopen on/before Tuesday, April 13 … at about 6 p.m. CDT.”

Scott County Road 101 between Flying Cloud Drive and downtown Shakopee has an “estimated reopening [of] more than one week,” according to the alert.
Soil boring tests conducted late Monday on Highway 41 confirmed that the road stabilized enough to carry heavy equipment, allowing repair work to begin. The pavement needs to be repaired and patched, shoulders must be rebuilt and debris must be cleared from the ditches.
While water has receded from the road surface on County Road 101 between Shakopee and Chanhassen, the roadbed there still must drain and stabilize before repairs can be made.
The bridge across the Minnesota River in Jordan opened Monday, so there is one more way out of Scott County. The other options are to cross in Belle Plaine or use the Highway 169 bridge into Bloomington.
