Vermont couple facing organized retail theft offenses from Home Depot, Target

Feb. 20—WILKES-BARRE TWP. — A couple from Vermont are facing organized retail theft offenses for their alleged roles in stealing thousands of dollars in vacuums from Target and power tools from Home Depot in recent weeks.

Eric Joseph Badore, 41, of Milton, and Jamie Rae Blake, 36, of Essex Junction, stand accused of stealing Dyson vacuums valued at $5,560 from Target in Wilkes-Barre Township and power tools, a welder and Dyson vacuum valued at $4,248 from Home Depot in Wilkes-Barre City, according to court records.

The two thefts from the stores occurred the same day on Jan. 21.

Badore and Blake were reportedly engaged in an organized retail theft organization stealing merchandise from retail stores across the country.

Wilkes-Barre Township police reported Badore and Blake were apprehended following a pursuit in Fond Du Lac County in Wisconsin on Jan. 26.

This week, Wilkes-Barre City police filed charges of organized retail theft, retail theft and criminal conspiracy to commit organized theft against the couple for the alleged theft of power tools from Home Depot.

Court records say Badore filled a shopping cart with power tools and merchandise as Blake also filled a shopping cart with power tools and merchandise. Badore and Blake ignored requests from store associates to provide receipts as they walked out of the store without payment and fled in a grey minivan, court records say.

Badore and Blake also swiped multiple Dyson vacuums from Target in Wilkes-Barre Township without paying for the merchandise the same day as the Home Depot thefts, according to court records.

Wilkes-Barre Township police filed two counts of retail theft and four counts of criminal conspiracy against Badore and Blake.

Badore and Blake were charged by the St. John’s Sheriff’s Department for their alleged roles in stealing merchandise from a Walmart store in Saint Augustine, Florida, on Dec. 31, 2024, according to the St. John’s Sheriff’s Department.

Badore and Blake remain jailed Thursday in Fond Du Lack County Jail in Wisconsin.
