Jeju Air flight 7C2216 was arriving from the Thai capital Bangkok and was attempting to land shortly after 9 a.m. local time. It was carrying 175 passengers and six crew on board.
Eyewitness footage showed the plane touching down without apparently having deployed its landing gear, before slamming into a wall in an explosion of flames and debris.
Reuters was able to confirm the location by the boundary wall, utility poles, structures, lamp posts and hills seen in the video which matched Reuters footage from the scene.

Investigators are examining bird strikes and weather conditions as possible factors, Muan fire chief Lee Jung-hyun told a briefing. Yonhap news agency cited airport authorities as saying a bird strike may have caused the landing gear to malfunction.
Authorities were searching nearby areas for bodies possibly thrown from the plane, Lee said.
