Students from West Branch Local Schools have selected to participate in honors bands with students from other parts of Ohio.
Eighth-graders Jackson Moore and Chloe Baia of West Branch Middle School Band will join the District 5 Middle School Honors Band.
Moore will serve as first chair for trombone, and Baia will be fourth chair for flute.
From West Branch High School, Peter Blanchard, Alaina Schluneker, Jack Mudger, Adam Corallo, Zak Karlen, Gavin Clay and Mason Brown were selected for the District 5 High School Honors Band. All are part of West Branch High School’s band.
Ohio Music Education Association sponsors the honors band, which draws students from Trumbull, Ashtabula and Mahoning counties for a special, advanced musical ensemble.

Blanchard, a senior, was selected as first chair for the oboe.
The students in both bands will conclude this experience Nov. 23 with a concert at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown.
