A Westmoreland County woman earlier this week pleaded guilty but mentally ill to trying to kill a child with fentanyl.
Skye Naggy, 32, of Greensburg, entered the plea on Tuesday for charges of attempted homicide, aiding suicide, aggravated assault, kidnapping, interference with child custody and endangering the welfare of a child.
The Westmoreland County District Attorneyâs Office says Naggyâs charges came in November 2022, when she took an 8-year-old girl and left notes behind stating âshe needed the powerful opioid to protect herself and the child.â Naggy reportedly claimed she was âtold by Godâ that she was going to die soon.

Police found Naggy and the child in a wooded area near Loyalhanna Lake.
The girl later tested positive for fentanyl and opiates.
Naggyâs lawyer previously tried to have the case thrown out, but doctors determined she was mentally competent to stand trial.
Naggy will be sentenced within the next three months.
