Voters in Ada County will have eight candidates to choose from on Nov. 5 for prosecutor, sheriff and county commissioner, with two of the three commission seats on the ballot.
Incumbent Republican Commissioner Ryan Davidson faces off with newcomer Democrat Jonathan Lashley for a two-year term in District 1, which represents mostly Boise, roughly north of Interstate 84 and east of Idaho 55.
Incumbent Republican Commissioner Tom Dayley faces off with Democrat Devin Gutierrez for a four-year term in District 3, which reaches from the Canyon County line east to the Elmore County line and encompasses southern parts of Meridian and Boise.
Commission candidates represent districts — and must live in the district they aim to represent — but they are elected countywide.
Incumbent Prosecutor Jan Bennetts, a Republican, is challenged by Democrat Johnathan Baldauf for a four-year term.
Incumbent Sheriff Matt Clifford, a Republican, is set to face the Constitution Party’s Doug Traubel to compete for a four-year term. Traubel lost to Clifford in the 2022 primary election, when both ran as Republicans.
