A Wichita contractor is barred from doing business after being accused of violating an earlier agreement with the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
Vonchel Gill, owner of Signature Remodeling, “failed to make payments, provide his tax return and refund as he agreed to do so in his June 2023 consent judgment,” the DA’s office said in a news release Monday.
A consent judgment is a legal settlement.

Now, Gill is being ordered to pay the full balance of his judgment, $60,322.83, due immediately. The court also imposed an additional $20,000 civil penalty for the violation.
“The court also suspended Mr. Gill’s license to do business in the state of Kansas and temporarily restrained him from engaging in consumer transactions involving home remodeling until the judgment is paid,” according to the DA.
The original case against Gill accused him of violating the Kansas Consumer Protection Act, alleging he failed to provide a material benefit to two consumers and was dishonest about being a licensed contractor.
Gill denied intentionally violating the act and accepted a consent judgment to settle the matter. The judgment placed Gill on a 72-month probationary period, requiring him to make $350 monthly payments and provide his tax return and refund, the DA said.
