Will it freeze in Texas next week? 12 maps show how cold it'll get

After the year’s first “fake spring,” which saw temperatures climb into the high 80s — including Dallas-Fort Worth tying a 114-year-old record at 84°F on Feb. 3 — parts of Texas can expect freezing temperatures again next week.

Even in cities that stay above freezing, temperatures will drop significantly, falling 20 to 30 degrees across much of the state, according to the NOAA forecast.

How cold will it get in Texas next week?

The High Plains can expect freezing temperatures again, with the northernmost tip of the Panhandle dipping back into the teens late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Lows in Dallas-Fort Worth and Central Texas will stay in the 30s and 40s, while coastal cities farther south will see lows in the 50s and 60s.

The warmest low temperature will be 65 degrees near Brownsville, while parts of South Texas could see highs reaching up to 88 degrees. Meanwhile, the coldest high temperature — meaning the warmest it will get in that area next Tuesday — will be just 30 degrees near Perryton.
