Woman charged in fatal shooting of boyfriend in North Nashville shooting

A woman who claimed an unknown man dressed in all black killed her boyfriend by firing a shot through a North Nashville home is charged in connection to his death.

Jyala Hall, 24, is charged with criminal homicide after police say they doubted the woman’s story as evidence did not support her claim that a man dressed in all black with a hoodie covering his head killed her boyfriend by firing a shot through the back door of the two’s Brickmont Drive home.

Police say Brandon Calloway was shot in the chest inside his home around 9:15 p.m. Aug. 10.

When police arrive, they say Hall was performing CPR on Calloway.

Police said Hall reported that she had arrived home but had lost her house key. As she waited for Calloway to let her in, she said an unknown person appeared and fired a shot through a rear door.
