Woman shot in arm was arrested after burglary in Oakland Park, authorities say

A woman was arrested Sunday morning after deputies responded to a call about a burglary and a shooting in Oakland Park, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the 4900 block of Northwest 13th Terrace around 5 a.m. where they found Ruika Abdulrahman, 31, who had been shot in the arm. The shooting was related to a burglary, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Deputies provided aid to Abdulrahman and took her to a hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.

BSO’s Oakland Park District Crime Suppression Team and BSO’s Violent Crimes detectives are currently investigating.

No further information was provided Sunday regarding the shooting, burglary or related circumstances.
