Gary Anderson, Michael Smith, Dave Chisnall and Rob Cross are among those who will not return to the World Darts Championship after Christmas.
The early stages of the tournament came to an end on Monday, with crowd favourite Ricky Evans and Scott Williams beating Chisnall and Cross respectively to seal the final two spots in the third round at Alexandra Palace.
There has been no shortage of shocks so far. After second seed Michael Smith fell to Kevin Doets in a five-set thriller, James Wade lost in straight sets to Jermaine Wattimena and Danny Noppert lost to Ryan Joyce, no14 seed Anderson lost 3-0 to Jeffrey de Graaf.
Gian van Veen was beaten by Ricardo Pietreczko on Monday night, adding to the list of seeds falling at the first hurdle.

There were no such problems for the likes of Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen, who very much remain the three to beat at Ally Pally.
Humphries will take centre stage on Friday night, with Littler and Van Gerwen following a day later.
