A group of yobs with their faces covered ran into a hotel and abused staff in reception – police have said. A group of four young people ran into the Old Hall Hotel, Buxton.

They shouted abuse at those inside during the incident, which took place at around 5.50pm on Thursday, December 19. Police say there have been a number of incidents in the High Peak town in recent weeks, and are urging anyone with information to contact them.

A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said: “In a separate incident, the water fountains in The Crescent were tampered with, causing hundreds of pounds worth of damage. An anti-social behaviour letter has been delivered to one of the suspects.
