NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A motorcyclist was killed in a Saturday evening crash that closed down Interstate 24 East in South Nashville for several hours, according to officials.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) said a multi-vehicle crash was reported at mile marker 52 on I-24 shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, causing all eastbound lanes to be blocked.

At 7:15 p.m., TDOT’s online traffic map was showing delays in both directions on I-24, as well as backups past the nearby junction onto Interstate 40:
At 10:10 p.m., TDOT’s map still showed blockages along the entire stretch of I-24 East between I-40 and Interstate 440:
By 10:45 p.m., TDOT removed the incident marker from its online map, which also showed traffic had mostly returned to a normal flow.

The Metro Nashville Police Department told News 2 one person who was driving a motorcycle died in the crash.
No additional details have been released about this incident.
