Britain’s Got Talent contestant The Dark Hero has finally revealed his true identity.

The mysterious caped crusader kept his identity under wraps throughout his time on the ITV competition show, wowing the judges with his operatic vocals while wearing a Batman mask.

After being eliminated following his performance at the semi-finals, where he sang a rendition of ‘Let It Go’ from the musical Frozen, the masked performer took to Instagram to unveil himself as British Ukrainian singer Yuriy Yurchuk.

Yuriy shared a video of himself singing in his Batman costume with a Ukrainian flag draped over his shoulders, captioning it: “I’ve got two words that I want you all to remember…. I’m Batman”.

Yuriy describes himself as an international opera singer and baritone who, according to his personal website, has performed for the British royal family, the Kyiv National Opera and more.

Despite impressing judges with his singing chops, Yuriy missed on out on a spot in Sunday’s BGT live final, which saw Sydnie Christmas crowned this series’ winner.

“I cannot believe the amount of love that I’ve felt since it aired. I am overwhelmed with love and it is the most amazing thing,” said Sydnie following her win.

“And I wish for one day that every single person in this room feels the way I do one day with this love. It’s amazing. Thank you so much!”
