Cat owner left note from neighbour and can’t believe what they want her to do

A dog owner’s bizarre request to a cat-loving neighbour has been labelled ‘sheer insanity’. The claws have come out over a passive-aggressive note which asked them to keep their feline friends away from the window.

The neighbour explained the sight of the moggies sent their own pet into a frenzy. They wrote: “Can you please keep your cats out of the window? They are causing my dog to sit in the window and bark all day long.”

Stumped by how to react, they posted the note on Reddit and asked for advice. Adding context, they said they owned their own home and had five cats, two who loved to “sit in the window when it’s nice out” and “do nothing but sleep”.

The post has now gone viral, the Mirror reports, with more than 12,000 users joining the conversation. One said: “Make sure to send them a letter like ‘please keep your dog out of the window, his presence is disrupting my cat’s chakras and chill vibes.'”

A second reply read: “I’m totally a dog person, but trying to make your neighbour discipline their cat for sitting in a window because you won’t discipline your dog for nuisance barking is SHEER INSANITY. I mean what the hell? Train your cat not to chill in a window because training a dog not to disturb the s*** out of everyone is too hard? I can’t believe this neighbour had the nerve.”

Another suggested: “Respond that you will let them know the situation and request that they be more mindful, but that you can’t guarantee their compliance. Because cats don’t listen to anyone.”

Offering a potential solution, a forum user said: “Just block the dog from the window. Duh. Can’t see the cat? Problem solved. Sounds more like I want my dog to be able to be at the window, so stop your cat from being able to be at the window.”
