Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney and former boxing legend Ricky Hatton have reportedly been dating ‘for weeks’ after they were spotted cosying up together on a pub crawl.
Claire, 52, and Ricky, 45, both appeared on the most recent series of Dancing On Ice together which was won by actor Ryan Thomas. They were said to have “electric chemistry” after meeting on the ITV skating show during rehearsals according to sources.
The pair have since been spotted in pictures obtained by the Mirror enjoying a night out in Ricky’s stomping ground of Manchester. Claire was snapped in a low-cut black dress grinning widely with her arm around Ricky’s neck, who also seemed to be beaming.
Sources told the publication that their boozy pub crawl was just one of many dates they have been on since March. Claire was said to have been enjoying single life until Ricky turned her head.
A source said: “The chemistry was electric. Ricky went out of the show early on but he contacted her afterwards and let’s say he started wooing her. They’ve been out on several dates. Saturday was just one in a long line of them. They’ve been seeing each other quite a bit. He is completely besotted.
“It seems like an unlikely match but he’s always had a way with women. They fall for his personality, and Claire has. He knows her number one priority is her son so they are being very careful. Let’s watch this space.”
The pair were enjoying their night in style, having been spotted carrying bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne on Saturday night around 6pm before appearing at another pub around 11pm later that night.

Claire appeared to whisper something into Ricky’s ear as he smiled, and the boxer was later seen putting his jacket around her to keep warm. They also met up with pals at Liverpool’s Hot Water Comedy Club the same weekend as Ricky posted them enjoying some drams.
Ricky, who has a son, has previously been linked to Playboy models Carla Howe and Chelsea Claire. His longest relationship was with ex-fiancee Jennifer Dooley, who he was with from 2005 to 2016, however things ended over his drinking habits after he was pictured with other women on nights out.
Soap star Claire was in a relationship with Tony Hibbard from 2001 to 2007 and her last relationship was with Daniel Reilly, the father of her son Jaxon, eight. They broke up in 2017, with Claire later giving an insight into what she looks for in a guy.
She told the Mirror ’s Invite Only podcast in January: “I really want to be with someone who makes me laugh. Someone who’s kind. Someone I will click with. So, someone like that, it just wouldn’t be about aesthetics – OK, there’s an initial attraction but I want it to be more than aesthetics, that’s the type of person I’m looking for.”
