Coronavirus Illinois the deadliest day recorded in Illinois, 192 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, total deaths 3700.

According to the Illinois health officials we have recorded 192 deaths in the last 24 hours and 1677 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus Illinois on Wednesday, total cases are 84698 including 3792 deaths (As of May 14, 2020).

Governor JB Pritzker warned that businesses and local governments that reopen too soon in defiance of his administration’s strategy will face potential consequences that could affect their bottom lines. 

 Pritzker said at his briefing Tuesday. “Until we have a vaccine or effective treatment or enough widespread immunity that new cases fail to materialize, the option of returning to normalcy doesn’t exist.”

Pritzker further said “Here’s what I want to say to those leaders: You weren’t elected to do what’s easy. You were elected to do what’s right.”

Kent Snider (Adams County Board chairman) said “Our numbers are far better than they are up north and we feel like we are being punished because we’re all in this together.”

Pritzker warned there will be consequences, businesses could lose their licenses and local governments could have federal dollars withheld, Illinois state police and law enforcement will take action.

“You weren’t elected to do what is easy. You were elected to do what’s right,” he further said. “I don’t have sympathy for those so intent on disregarding science and logic, so afraid to tell their communities what they don’t want to hear, that they put people’s lives at risk.”

A senior staff member in government Pritzker’s office has been tested positive for COVID-19, from now Governor Pritzker and other staff members will be working from home. The team had been working from the James R. Thompson Center while adhering to social distancing measures and guidelines given by the Illinois Department of Public Health (Chicago Tribune Reported).
