Gas prices are on the rise again.
In Miami, prices at the pump are nearly 5 cents a gallon higher over last week, although they’re still about 7 cents lower than a month ago. In Bradenton, prices are up about 7 cents a gallon. The cheapest gas in the state? North Florida, where the price can average 25 to 30 cents less a gallon than parts of South Florida.
Across Florida, prices are up an average of 6 cents a gallon this week as summer driving season gets into gear (June is around the corner and school is out in a couple of weeks).

Gas prices in South Florida
▪ Miami-Dade: The average price: $3.53 a gallon, according to GasBuddy’s survey of nearly 1,700 stations in the region. That’s an increase of 4.9 cents a gallon from last week. Cheapest gas in the Miami area was $2.87 and the most expensive $4.79.
▪ Fort Lauderdale: $3.55
▪ West Palm Beach/Boca Raton: $3.69

Average: The average price for a gallon of gas in Florida on Tuesday, according to AAA, was $3.50, up 6 cents from last week.

Average: The average price for a gallon of gas across the country on Tuesday, according to AAA, was $3.58, down a penny from last week.
What the experts are saying
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy: “With the summer driving season now underway, average gas prices have seen ups in some areas and downs in others. Most states are seeing prices slightly below their 2024 peak thus far, with some refinery issues in the Great Lakes weighing on prices there, while other areas, like the West Coast, have seen notable relief with more coming. June tends to be a month of smooth sailing, where we see gas prices decline in most areas, and that’s a trend that looks the most likely for drivers, barring unexpected refinery snags or a tropical storm developing. The national average over Memorial Day was down ever so slightly compared to last year—after adjusting for inflation, prices were down about 10 cents per gallon. Not a terrible way to kick off summer!”
